Hello Summer, Bring On Blind Cricket

As winter is finally drawing to a close, Blind Sports Radio is excited to announce another big summer of blind cricketing action.

Our first match for broadcast will be on the 26th of October, with the Victorian Blind Cricket Association playing a social match against the Australian Cricket Society. As always, This promises to be a fabulous day, so please make sure you check out our
upcoming onair schedule of events
for more information as to the broadcast times for this exciting event.

This year, we will also look at broadcasting the Melbourne Cup Trivia and Calcutta night, which the Burwood Blind Cricket Club have run successfully for many years, but from this year will be an event organized and run by the VBCA board, with some much needed assistance from the Burwood club. This event is planned to go ahead on the 3rd of November, but as plans haven’t as yet been finalised, it would be wise to keep an eye out on our site for future updates. BSR thanks
The Victorian Blind Cricket Association
for allowing our team to broadcast numerous matches throughout the season and we hope to continue bringing fabulous blind cricket to our growing audience and to further expose this wonderful game to the future generation of potential blind cricketers.

We can also confirm that we will be covering the Blind Cricket Australia v. New Zealand Blind Cricket Association series in New Zealand in January 2015. The cricket commentary team can’t wait for this to role around, and we are certainly very appreciative of both
Blind Cricket Australia
and
Blind Cricket New Zealand Association
for making it possible for us to travel across the ditch to cover a tour that certainly promises to be a fantastic event with some exciting up and coming talent on display from the BCA and NZBCA sides. Dates and times for each day’s broadcast will shortly be released on the
upcoming onair schedule of events page.

Commencing in October, the Balls And All team will be speaking with all of the competing countries in the upcoming blind cricket world cup, so if you’re wanting to find out more about the teams that are going over to South Africa and their chances to take home the coveted trophy, feel free to tune in and get informed on these fortnightly special shows in the lead up to what promises to be an amazing event.

If that’s not enough, Blind Sports Radio will also have a daily wrap up show covering the goings on each day from the blind cricket world cup in South Africa. Further details for these upcoming shows will be provided on our website in the near future.

Other matches that we will broadcast throughout this season include the VBCA v. The Primary Club match, some twenty20 matches involving the Victorian Blind Cricket Association sides, as well as some exciting blind cricket from New South Wales, so those of you who have gone into hibernation over the winter can well and truly thaw yourselves out and enjoy the upcoming cricket action that we look forward to bringing to you over the next six months.

Blind Cricket Australia On The Project

Tonight,
Blind Cricket Australia
made an appearance on
Network Ten’s
weekday show
The Project.

It was wonderful to see the blind Aussie cricketers serving it up to
Brett Lee
and
Glenn McGrath,
but the highlight has to be long time Aussie B1 and popular Balls And All co-host
Hamish Mackenzie
stealing the limelight once again by proving that he truly has no tunnel.

If you didn’t get to watch it live, check out
